Department Summary
The music program has an enrollment of more than 400 music majors and a faculty and staff of 85, plus 70 graduate teaching assistants. A wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs are offered, from the baccalaureate through the doctorate, including programs in performance, collaborative piano, music education, composition, theory, musicology, jazz studies, piano and string pedagogy, conducting, music technology, and music with a liberal arts emphasis. The school is designated as the only full-range professional school of music and dance in the state of Oregon.

Position Summary
Primary responsibilities for the position will be to teach and recruit undergraduate and graduate voice students and teach courses in voice pedagogy. The faculty member is to maintain an active performing career and/or program of appropriate research/creative activity. Other duties will be based upon the needs of the school and qualifications of the candidate but could include courses in lyric diction or solo vocal literature. All faculty members are expected to serve on committees and perform other appropriate school and university service.

Minimum Requirements
• Master's degree in music required
• Evidence of excellence in voice teaching
• Significant accomplishment as a performer required
• Ability to contribute effectively to a faculty team dedicated to creating a positive, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population
• High potential for recruiting and building an outstanding program

Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate in music or equivalent outstanding professional experience preferred
• Soprano or bass/baritone preferred
• Relevant and excellent voice teaching experience, preferably at the college level
