The University Health Center (UHC) is a unit within the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management and is a nationally accredited (AAAHC) outpatient clinic providing primary care to students at the University of Oregon. The UHC’s mission is to provide exceptional culturally competent health services and public health leadership that enhances personal success and optimizes health and wellness for a diverse campus community.
The purpose of this position is to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and/or prescribe health care and treatment for University of Oregon students independently or in conjunction with other University Health Center physicians. Decisions on health care assessment and follow-up treatment of patients affect the well-being and life of the student/patient.
Reports to the Medical Director; works with Administrators on administrative situations; collaborates with the Medical and Nursing staff, managers and ancillary services of the University Health Center.
• Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
• M.D. or D.O licensure by the Oregon Medical Board, or ability to obtain the licensure by the agreed upon start date of employment.
• Possession of ABMS-approved board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
• Ability and experience in practicing a broad scope of primary care medicine
• Valid Drug Enforcement Administration certification for prescription of controlled substances, or ability to obtain by first day of employment.
• Current CPR certification, or the ability to obtain by first day of employment.
• Position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM).
• Must be in compliance with UHC policies regarding tuberculosis screening, measles and mumps (MMR), seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment.
• Experience working with international students.
• Demonstrated administrative or leadership experience.
• Three years of experience in primary care.
• Experience with the scope and pace of acute care work.
