Department Summary

The Center for Translational Neuroscience (CTN) is a center within the Department of Psychology whose mission is to translate knowledge from basic neuroscience and apply it to improve well-being, promote resilience, and mitigate the effects of early adverse experiences.

The Psychology department, located within the College of Arts and Sciences, is one of the largest departments supporting significant instructional and research activities in a wide range of fields within the discipline. The Department enrolls about 1,900 students per term, with approximately 300 undergraduate Psychology majors, and 80 doctoral students, and includes approximately 35 teaching faculty, emeriti faculty, research staff, graduate students, and professional/administrative staff. Position Summary

This position collaborates with the FIND Co-Directors of Implementation on the Filming Interactions to Nurture Development (FIND) program. FIND is a manualized, innovative, strengths-based video coaching program for caregivers of young children. FIND uses video to reinforce developmentally supportive interactions between caregivers and their children. The Implementation Lead may also work on other interventions within the Stress Neurobiology and Prevention (SNAP) Lab as needed.

The Implementation Lead position coordinates FIND implementation projects throughout the life of the project. This includes collaboration with implementation partners, monitoring and reporting on the progress of each implementation project, including tracking recruitment and retention data. This position also trains, supports, and tracks progress towards certification for FIND coaches both internally at the University of Oregon and externally at implementation sites. This position may also train and support FIND editors as needed,

This position provides input on model development to the Co-Directors of Implementation. This position is expected to work independently and exercise judgment to generate and execute solutions to problems. This position will be called upon to lead and facilitate meetings as well as present information on implementation projects to a wide variety of geographically dispersed and diverse audiences, including research and medical practitioners, program managers, and families in community settings.

The Implementation Lead is supervised by the Director of Implementation for FIND. This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities but does have oversight over internal FIND coaches.

Additional expectations of position:
• Must be available to travel domestically and internationally.
• Applicants must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in related field; OR at least 3 years experience in the field of early childhood, plus bachelor's degree in related field.
• Experience working with young children.

Professional Competencies

• Knowledge of child development.
• Basic knowledge of and comfort working with technology include video cameras, tablets, laptops, video files and web-conference platforms. Skill with MS Office suite.
• Demonstrated ability to work with parents and/or other caregivers.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment requiring participatory decision-making and cooperative interactions among employees.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to large groups.
• Excellent organizational and management skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently, with supervision as needed.
• Demonstrated effectiveness as a team member.

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish language proficiency.
• Experience working with high-risk populations.
• Multi-cultural competence and experience working in diverse communities.
• Experience training and supervising clinical teams.
• Experience working as part of a research team.
• Experience implementing evidence-based intervention with fidelity to the model.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to initiate implementation activities within external organizations and oversee ongoing implementation at those sites.
• Experience with the development and adaptation of intervention models for specific contexts and populations.
