Position Announcement
The Department of Operations and Business Analytics ( in the Lundquist College of Business invites applications to fill a tenure-track position with a data driven research focus within the field of operations management, effective September 2022.

Department or Program Summary
The Department of Operations and Business Analytics ( is one of five academic units (accounting, finance, management, and marketing being the other four) that make up the Lundquist College of Business (Lundquist), which is one of nine colleges and schools within the University of Oregon (UO).

The Department of Operations and Business Analytics is committed to excellence in teaching and research in the fields of statistics, production and operations management, and information systems. Adding strength in the college’s data-analytics area via a new TTF hire is consistent with the college’s strategic plans, as well as the University of Oregon’s Presidential Initiative in Data Science ( The department plays a key role in supporting the Lundquist College’s undergraduate “core” curriculum, and the undergraduate program is of paramount importance. The successful candidate will not only help the department serve the college’s undergraduate program, but will also support the college’s strategic plans in graduate education.

Minimum Requirements
A Ph.D in Operations Management or a closely related field (e.g., Management Science, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Industrial Engineering) from an accredited institution with a proven record of excellence in coursework related to empirical and analytical methodologies. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of excellence in data-driven research as well as evidence of excellence in teaching college-level analytics or operations management courses. Outstanding candidates who plan to complete a doctoral degree within a year of hiring (ABD) may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have an outstanding record of scholarly contributions, such as publications in top-tier journals, conference presentations, etc.; teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level analytics and operations management courses; and engagement or the potential to engage in service on academic committees.
