Position Summary

As a Custodial Services Coordinator within our organization, you hold a pivotal role in the oversight and coordination of custodial services, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings. Beyond supervision and coordination, you actively participate in general custodial tasks under the direct supervision of the Custodial Manager. Your duties include the assurance of cleanliness standards, effective staff management, and inventory maintenance.

A primary responsibility involves conducting routine inspections of our facilities to guarantee their proper cleanliness and upkeep. You promptly report any maintenance needs and keep comprehensive records of issues requiring attention. Additionally, your role encompasses the implementation of corrective measures and retraining for custodial staff when their performance falls below established standards.

Efficient staffing and shift management are vital components of your position. You are responsible for meeting staffing requirements, even in the case of unplanned absences, by arranging substitute staff as necessary. You also play a significant role in training new custodial employees and delegating tasks during the designated shift, all while maintaining safety standards.

Maintaining a well-organized inventory of supplies, furniture, equipment, linens, and materials is an important aspect of your role. You coordinate custodial supply needs and replenish supplies as required. Promptly reporting any missing furniture or equipment is critical to maintaining a well-equipped environment.

As a Custodial Services Coordinator, your role extends beyond supervision; you actively contribute to the cleaning tasks, which include emptying ashtrays and wastebaskets, cleaning various surfaces, refilling dispensers, and dusting. You are responsible for the sanitation of restrooms, sinks, and showers, as well as floor care and carpet maintenance. Handling minor maintenance and equipment repairs, such as changing light bulbs and addressing clogged drains and toilets, is also within your purview. Furthermore, you promptly report any necessary building maintenance and safety issues. Your responsibilities also encompass arranging and relocating furniture for special functions, preparing reports, and maintaining various records.

Regarding security, you are accountable for the locking and unlocking of buildings, managing lighting systems, and conducting security rounds to ensure proper system functionality. Any security deficiencies are promptly reported, and you manage the distribution and collection of keys as needed.

In your role as the Custodial Services Coordinator, you can expect to engage in physically demanding work that involves walking, bending, stooping, and climbing regularly. This position also requires driver certification.

The Custodial Services Coordinator position is integral to the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our facilities. Your dedication and attention to detail are invaluable in effectively managing custodial staff, upholding standards, and maintaining an orderly inventory. By overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings, you play a vital role in creating a safe and inviting environment for all.

Minimum Requirements

• Two years of experience in custodial services work.

Professional Competencies

• Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Conflict management skills.
• Internal and external customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with a computer maintenance management system.
• One year of leadwork experience.
