The Office of the Dean of Students is committed to advancing student learning that builds community. The Office of the Dean of Students is a learning organization that creates engaging environments to transform student learning; encourages a caring and safe community that increases our students' abilities to learn and make healthy choices; promotes inclusiveness, supports the success and growth of all students; prepares students to think critically, practice skills, and clarify values--all of which they can use throughout their lifetime; and enriches the student experience. The MCC provides space for both formal and informal gatherings, hosts meetings of student unions, provides timely educational and cultural workshops, collaborates around regional conferences, hosts guest speakers and artists, welcomes visiting high school students and student groups; and supports university cultural heritage month programming. The MCC is at the core of fulfilling the university’s mission of student success. The MCC aims to model, promote, and reinforce an environment in which students feel a sense of belonging and experience the university as a community committed to their success, health, and well-being.
