Position Summary

Join our team as a Graduate Career Advisor and play a crucial role in enhancing the career readiness of Lundquist graduate and undergraduate students. You will have the opportunity to work with students individually and in groups, providing tailored career guidance and support to help them identify their strengths, and interests, and develop effective strategies for their internship and job searches. You will work closely with the Director and other team members to lead and execute Career Development events, programs, and courses.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about student development, values diversity, and can create an inclusive environment. As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Career Strategy, the Office of Advising and Student Experience, the Office of Employer & Alumni Engagement, Lundquist staff and faculty, and student clubs. This role may also require occasional work in the evenings and weekends, providing flexibility and variety in your schedule.

The Lundquist College of Business is seeking to fill two career advisor roles, each with its own requirements and areas of focus. In addition to this role, we are also seeking a Career Advisor to join our dynamic team and contribute to the career readiness of our students. Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, education, business, or related field.
• One year of experience designing and offering courses, training, events, and/or workshops.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in education, business, or career services.

Professional Competencies

• Proficient in business software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, LinkedIn, and other social media and the use of cutting-edge technology (e.g., Generative AI) in work processes.
• Strong skills in establishing effective working relationships with stakeholders, e.g., students, employers, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision to resolve issues in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
• Exceptional written and oral communication and public speaking skills.
• Commitment to using qualitative and quantitative data in decision-making.
• Effectiveness in organization, collaboration, problem-solving, and independent judgment to resolve issues in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
• Strong intercultural communication skills and a firm understanding of the varying needs of our diverse student body.
• Practice innovation and continuous improvement, including tracking and reporting on own work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Employer engagement experience in higher education.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in education, business or career services including prior career advising experience in higher education and/or private industry-specific experience.
• Education and/or experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, e-learning, human-centered design, project management, organizational design and leadership.
• Prior experience developing and tracking metrics to gauge progress.
