University Housing units which include Business Services Operations, Dining Services, Facilities Services, Promotions & Student Recruitment, and Residence Life. University Housing is a $100-million dollar educational and business department that is a self-sustaining, self-liquidating agency of the University (receives no tuition or tax support for its operating budget).

Position Summary
This position will manage the Front Desk Services area as well as coordinate and support the outreach efforts for University Housing.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residence Life, for Occupancy & Outreach the Front Desk and Outreach Manager is responsible for participating in and coordinating recruitment events for University Housing in support for the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management's efforts. In addition, the Manager will have oversight of the customer service interactions with prospective students and families and current residents, families, and campus partners. This position is critical to the day-to-day management and creation of information, problem-solving, and referrals regarding housing services and programs for students and families, departments within University Housing, and campus partners. Most importantly, this position leads the support staff in assuring that services are delivered in a friendly, accurate and courteous manner to promote University Housing's mission and statement.
More specifically, this position oversees and leads the recruitment and outreach efforts for the department at more than 100+ events throughout the year, including Duck Preview Days, lntroDUCKtion, and Admitted Student Days. As a representative of the University, this position participates in office and university outreach activities and events, speaking to groups of parents, students, high school counselors, members of the community (local and state-wide), and members of various civic and professional organizations. This position will also coordinate recruitment and outreach events with the Director of Housing Promotions & Student Recruitment, including representing the University at events and the oversight of volunteer and staff participation to support coverage at events.
This position is expected to work independently to maintain service delivery standards and to interpret policies and procedures as it relates to the University Housing mission to support the academic mission of the University. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Front Desk Services Management: Oversee the Front Desk Services area, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Coordinate Recruitment Efforts: Participate in and coordinate recruitment events for University Housing, supporting the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management.
• Customer Service Oversight: Lead customer service interactions with prospective students, families, current residents, and campus partners, ensuring friendly, accurate, and courteous service. Work autonomously to maintain service delivery standards.
• Information Management: Handle the day-to-day management, creation, and communication of information, problem-solving, and referrals regarding housing and university services and programs for students and families, departments within University Housing, and campus partners.
• Support Staff Leadership: Guide and support staff to deliver services that align with University Housing’s mission and values.
Representation at recruitment events may include travel in and around the state of Oregon, and occasionally outside of Oregon. This position requires the ability to obtain a UO Driver's Certification for the purpose of driving state vehicles.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent skills, experience, and education.
• Two years professional experience in a position that required customer service, administrative functions and/or office management, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications
• One year of supervisory or lead work experience.
• Experience using information systems, including but not limited to Banner Student Information, StarRez, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word. and other databases.
• Experience working with recruitment and training.
• Experience with event management; including preparing materials and managing volunteer staff.
• Experience working in university housing or other student life.
