The HR Programs and Services unit manages the university's benefits, medical leaves, work-life, HR compliance, learning and development, and recognition programs for all employees. The unit provides HR support services to the campus community and is responsible for generating and distributing HR communications to all university employees. The unit develops and maintains HR programs in collaboration with campus stakeholders to support university leadership and institutional priorities

Position Summary

The Interim Leaves Process Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Benefits and serves as a member of the Medical Leaves team within University Human Resources. This is a 12-month, benefits-eligible interim position that plays a key role in supporting the administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of leave-related processes and systems.

Working collaboratively with the Associate Director of Benefits and other stakeholders, the Interim Leaves Process Coordinator provides project, and process support for medical leave initiatives. The position assists with analyzing and improving processes, documenting standard operating procedures, developing and updating training materials, and supporting the successful implementation of leave-related systems and process enhancements.

This role also contributes to the development and maintenance of employee-facing resources, including website content, communications, and training materials for leave processes and systems. In addition, the coordinator supports project management activities by helping to organize implementation efforts, track progress, facilitate communication, and ensure timely completion of key initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify challenges, research solutions, gather and analyze information, and support informed decision-making. This position provides support in a confidential capacity to the Associate Director of Benefits and requires the ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when handling confidential and complex matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to improving processes and enhancing the employee experience through effective coordination and continuous improvement efforts.

This position is based in Eugene with some level of flexibility, including the option to work remotely with frequent commuting to campus. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval.

Minimum Requirements

•Two years of administrative support experience involving supporting multiple stakeholders and complex deliverables.

Professional Competencies

•Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage details across multiple complex projects and maintain accuracy in all components.
•High attention to detail, particularly in maintaining documents and communications.
•Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach and strong teamwork abilities.
•Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze and clearly present data and information.
•Ability to manage high-pressure situations with tact and sound judgment, including handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and initiative.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

•Project management experience in a higher education environment and/or in a Human Resources department.
•Familiarity with federal and state laws that affect leaves administration.
•Experience in data analysis and reconciliation, including creating and maintaining reports.
