Department Summary
The Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management advances the University of Oregon's tradition of excellence by enrolling and retaining high-achieving scholars from Oregon, across the country, and around the world. We work on behalf of prospective students, current students, and their families through each phase of the enrollment process: the college search, admission, registration, financial aid, matriculation, transition, and onward to graduation.
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for academic and classroom scheduling, student registration, enrollment verification, grading and academic records maintenance, transfer credit articulation, degree audits, monitoring core education requirements, degree awarding, student data/statistical analysis, veterans benefits, FERPA compliance, and transcript services. These responsibilities, assignments and services are completed within institutional policies and standards as well as related state and federal laws and regulations.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Registrar of Technology, the Data and systems Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Student Information System (Banner SIS), including data security, reporting, and technical processing, to support the work of the Office of the Registrar occurring in the most consistent, equitable, and efficient manner possible.
The Data and Systems Coordinator is responsible for overseeing data and the operation of related software and systems for the Office of the Registrar. The person in this position controls access to systems containing sensitive and confidential data and must make careful and well-reasoned decisions in using and controlling that access. Extensive knowledge of both Registrar-related data and the wider University of Oregon operations will be acquired and maintained in this position.
This position will consult with users; provide database access, support, and maintenance; and create reports of Registrar-related data in Cognos, and/or SQLPlus. In doing so, the incumbent exercises independent judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the university's mission and policy to recruit and retain students at this university. This position is part of a management team that designs and implements unit policy regarding program administration, policies, and procedures regarding the operations of the Office of the Registrar.
This position reports to the Associate Registrar for Technology and is expected to carry out duties with limited supervision. It provides support and technical assistance in working closely with the Assistant Registrar for Data and Statistical Reporting, as well as with three Senior Assistant Registrars for Operations, as considered necessary for SIS related systems, reporting, data, and access needs of the Office of the Registrar.
Hybrid, Remote Eligible: This position is based in Eugene with some level of flexibility including the option to work on-site, hybrid, or fully remote. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval. Minimum Requirements
This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems generally obtained through an AA degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study and at least two years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, management or an equivalent amount of training and experience.
•Basic skills in systems analysis and relational database concepts, standards, and accepted practices
•Experience with Data Warehouse (IDR, Integrated Data and Reporting, Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, etc) software, data reporting, data mining, and techniques.
•Experience presenting data in multiple formats including charts and dashboards.
•Experience utilizing Banner or other Student Information System (SIS)
•Experience with Degree Works or other degree audit tools.
•Two (2) years of professional experience querying relational databases utilizing Oracle SQL or other SQL.
• Technical- or professional-level experience analyzing and/or instructing constituents on Banner-related processes.
• Technical- or professional-level experience analyzing and/or instructing constituents on data requests and reports.
•Experience working in a Registrar's Office.
•Experience with Microsoft Office products (especially Word and Excel).
•Successful experience applying project management principles.
