The Talent Acquisition and Classification & Compensation team within Human Resources supports the University’s efforts to attract, hire, and retain world-class faculty and staff. We provide strategic guidance, consultative support, and transactional assistance, as well as create tools and resources for all stages of recruitment and hiring. We also provide strategies and solutions so that units may achieve their classification and compensation objectives in an effective, efficient, consistent, and equitable manner. In 2024-2025, our most important strategic objectives are improving our focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and implementing compensation and attraction strategies to respond to the needs of our workforce. Position Summary
You’ll provide strategic consultation to an assigned group of campus departments by offering expertise, tools, and resources regarding their unique recruiting and hiring needs. You’ll advise your partner units on search planning, recruitment outreach, selection methodologies, hiring processes, and onboarding activities.
You’ll consult with a wide variety of internal customers, from department-based HR representatives and front-line managers to senior leaders. You will help department HR representatives ensure that searches are planned and conducted effectively and efficiently. You’ll also maintain and clearly communicate procedures and practices, including best use of the talent management system for job postings, candidate review, search documentation, and offers.
If you like project work, there’s plenty of opportunity to build and implement. Current projects include revamping our model recruitment processes and tools, partnering on search advocacy, building awareness of and addressing implicit bias, developing training and e-learning modules for campus partners, and business process improvement. You'll be a subject matter expert: designing, developing, and delivering training; monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to best practices.

While there is room for innovation and creativity in this role, there is also a lot of support. You’ll be part of a team of Recruitment Consultants and Recruitment Specialists, and you’ll work closely with other University Human Resources teams who can provide guidance, consultation, and subject-matter expertise.
This position assists and acts in a confidential capacity; the ability to handle confidential material appropriately and maintain an institutional perspective is critical.
This position is based in Eugene and has the option to work a hybrid schedule.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional human resources* experience OR an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with recruitment functions, such as recruitment outreach, position description/vacancy announcement development, classification, FLSA, and candidate evaluation/selection
• Experience using HRIS and/or a Talent Management System
• Current PHR or SHRM-CP certification
• Experience with applying collective bargaining agreements to recruitment and compensation matters
• Experience in higher education or related field
