Department Summary
The Religious Studies Department at the University of Oregon, located in the College of Arts and Sciences, focuses on the academic study of religious traditions from around the world in classes taught by experts in the field of religious studies. The department also includes Arabic language instruction as part of its curriculum.
Position Summary
The Department of Religious Studies is seeking qualified applicants for its open instruction pool. Appointments not to exceed one year, but with the possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years. Potential courses may be in biblical studies, ancient Judaism, Christianity, Asian religions, Islam and Arabic language.
Minimum Requirements
• Master's degree in Religious Studies or related field.
Professional Competencies
• Demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching.
• Commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
• PhD in Religious Studies or related field.
• Teaching experience at the college level.
