Position Summary

The position is for a qualified educational leader who has made a significant impact in educational policy and practice at the state and/or national level. The Professor of Practice will have a record of individual accomplishment fully congruent with professor where such accomplishments are typically accrued in a K-12 educational setting.

The Professor of Practice works with project leadership to apply their professional experience leading schools to ensure the highest quality in project outcomes. This position facilitates the implementation and expansion of innovation and partnerships for K-12 schools, supports the development and delivery of professional development for practitioners, and serves as a liaison between Center on Human Development faculty and K-12 educational leaders.

In accordance with all College of Education’s internal governance and promotion policies, the position will require completing independent tasks as part of larger projects. Professional autonomy is expected in making decisions regarding task details and fulfillment, in collaboration with project principal investigators.

This position is a 12-month Career Faculty position in the Professor of Practice classification series. The position is a limited-term 5-year position, which aligns with the length of grant funding that serves as the basis of the position. The purpose of the grant is to develop and implement a model program in schools and communities supporting the career development needs of youth with disabilities.
