The Lundquist College of Business Mohr Career Services, Office of Industry and Alumni Engagement team serves approximately 5,000 students on the Eugene campus.
Position Summary
Assistant Director of Industry Engagement is a member of the Mohr Career Services, Office of Industry and Alumni Engagement team at the Lundquist College of Business. Reporting to the Associate Director of Industry Engagement, the role focuses on real estate and other industries, serving undergraduate and graduate students.
The Assistant Director assists in employer engagement strategy development and execution by building and expanding recruiting relationships to significantly grow the College's industry presence. This person builds strong connections with employers, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and donors to drive student success in professional experiences and career outcomes. This is primarily an outreach and execution role: identifying and pursuing new opportunities through targeted employer and alumni engagement across a wide variety of programs and on/off-campus offerings.
The role concentrates on key West Coast markets (Portland, Seattle, Bay Area, and Southern California), though opportunities are not limited to these regions. The ideal candidate is a natural relationship builder with program development experience who thrives in a cross-functional team environment. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required. Flexible work arrangements are available for this Eugene-based position.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• Three or more years related experience in commercial real estate, sales/business development, talent acquisition/recruitment/human resources, alumni relations, development, career services, higher education or other related field
Professional Competencies
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels, including senior leaders, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to identify and take action on tasks and process/program improvement while staying in communication with colleagues and direct supervisor
• Strong organizational skills – you can manage an advisory board, a student-alumni event, advise a student club leadership team, and enter Salesforce data in the same week.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and work collaboratively within a team environment
• Ability to analyze data/trends and translate them into strategy.
• Excellent listening skills and high emotional intelligence.
• Ability to develop partnerships within a higher education setting and throughout the community.
• Explores and applies emerging tools and technologies — including AI, to enhance work quality and efficiency; evaluates outputs thoughtfully before use.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree
• Experience working in a major commercial real estate market, ideally on the West Coast, with an established network of regional and industry contacts.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM.
• Additional related work experience in recruiting, human resources, sales/business development, management or corporate relations with a proven record of developing, building and assessing successful programs.
• Working knowledge of accredited college of business/higher education culture within career services
• Experience with career services higher education software platforms E.g. Handshake
